The Alder is a protective tree and comes from the word ‘elder’ (not the tree, but older). The Alder is supposed to be a very brave tree and has the gods Bran and Cronos associated with it.

Herbal Use
- The tea made from the bark is good for coughs, toothaches and diarrhoea
- A potion including the bark can be used as an eye wash or to treat swellings and sprains
Magickal Uses
Use in spells for spiritual decisions, prophecy, intelligence, resurrection, teaching and weather magick.
- Carry the leaves or twigs in a pouch as a protective charm
- Carrying the leaves can help with Fae communication.
- Use in a staff to help with resurrection magick
