Sri Ram Navami is a Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Rama. It falls on the ninth day of the Hindu lunar year and will vary across the globe. Navami means ninth day. This day is Rama's birthday, he is remembered for his prosperous and honourable reign and he has become synonymous with peace and prosperity.
Midday is the key time on this day, because it is the exact time that Rama was supposed to have been born. Usually prayers are said to the Sun early in the norming and at midday, a special prayer is performed. In many parts of india there is a Rmnavami procession where a decorated chariot, complete with four people dressed as Rama, his brother Laxman, his queen Sita and his disciple Hanuman ride. The chariot is accompanied by several of Rama's soldiers.
