St. Valentine's Day (00:00 - February 14th, 2012)
Traditonally the day when lovers express their love for each other by sending cards and flowers, St. Valentine's Day is alleged to stem from a story of St. Valentine. When he was rejected by his mistress, he stabbed himself in the chest and sent her his still-beating heart; to demonstrate his undying love. One wonders how he managed to send it after he was dead and if his love really was undying ... hmmm ...
As it turns out, there were several Christian martyrs named Valentine. Those who are still (sometimes) remembered are Valentine of Rome and Calentine of Terni.
Despite the questionable nature of the origins of this day and the obvious commercialism it still represents, you can take advantage of the loving energies around now and choose to conduct a love spell on this day. It may not be a Pagan celebration, but the concentration of (allegedly) loving thoughts around the world do create some formidable energy.
